There is nothing like live plants or fresh greenery to brighten up your interiors - It immediately brings the outdoors in, making the room feel fresh and more alive. However, not everyone has a green thumb so an easy way to accomplish this look is to use the plants or flowers that are growing in your own back yard. Here are a few tips from your top Houston Interior Designer.
For this guest bathroom project in Galveston Bay we clipped a few leaves from a fern we had growing in the yard and placed them in a clear glass container with water. This is an easy way to freshen up any bathroom and it should last a couple of weeks.
If you would like something more substantial find a beautiful oak or maple tree and get to clipping. For this interior shoot of one of our projects in The Heights section of Houston we used a maple tree branch to dress up this dining room buffet and bar. The pop of green will bring your dining room to life. We love the green against this charcoal gray backdrop.
Olive trees are very popular in landscaping these days. If you're fortunate to have an olive tree, cllip a few branches and add them to a vase of your liking. Your vase can be clear or ceramic or any material you choose. Just make sure the container can hold water to avoid any mess. Get creative and bring your home to life.
