The Water Key project is an Acadian style home on Galveston Bay where every room has a view. Our client was looking for a waterfront refuge for relaxation and entertaining family and friends. We worked with a local architect and builder to execute our coastal, contemporary design. The 4,000 square foot home has four levels of living space and took 2 years to complete.
The first floor outdoor area is equipped with a summer kitchen, outdoor living and dining area and an in-ground swimming pool. The second floor features a 3 sided porch providing incredible bay view for the open kitchen, dining and living room floor plan. We installed exposed reclaimed wood beams from a 130 year old dairy farm in Indiana. A beautiful dry bar is hidden behind a custom made white oak barn door and the linear fireplace is framed in stone. The powder room is lined with teal sea grass. This floor also has an expansive guest suite that sleeps four with private access to an outdoor balcony overlooking the bay. The guest bathroom includes a double white oak vanity, soaking tub and walk-in shower. The third level includes the master suite and home office. The master suite has a custom designed teal velvet bed and end tables. The master bathroom has a beautiful walk in shower facing the bay with several rain shower heads and a soaking tub with a beautiful crystal chandelier. The fourth and final level is a built-in bunk suite with sea grass flooring and private bath that sleeps 12 comfortably.
We also worked closely with the client on custom drapery and custom furniture from Bernhardt, Vanguard and Lee Industries. We selected all featured art from local Houston artisans and provided finishing touches with decor selected from various shops in the Houston area. We are so proud of our house by the bay.
"I had the distinctive pleasure of working with L Design Group on my Galveston Bay house. They made the experience of being a first time home builder pleasurable and enjoyable. Their eye for detail, design and organization are fantastic and they were very attentive to my wishes and opinions. I'm looking forward to our next project!" - Teri
